What we've enjoyed this week.

This week in computing, Panthers class have written information on what they have enjoyed this week.

I have not edited this work, it is all done by the children.

I hope you enjoy reading what the children enjoyed.

Wales holiday jet age museum
Jet age museum Alfie sat inside a Vulcan bomber he described it as: The most claustrophobic tight thing ever. If you slip on the plasticy slippery seats. If you are the engineer you have pretty much 10 seconds or you will most likely die. Inside the building Alfie sat inside a spitfire trainer it teaches you how to fly a spitfire, if you pull the cord above your head you will fly out of the cockpit roof. By Alfie C

On the 24th of November 2017 Luke went to the UEA Norwich the first thing he did was the 2x1 relay and came 4th place out of 8 schools 6 being massive schools. After all of the relays Luke did the vertical jump and he got 50cm higher than the target. After that he did the over under relay you have to go through a tunnel then jump over a 50cm hurdle twice. He also did the speed bounce and did 48 reps. Next Luke did the javelin and threw it 20-25 meters!  By Luke

We put our hands in the middle and shouted Catfield. We all agreed it was a amazing day out we wish everyone was there. Especialy when we won the reaction was EPIC! Athletics at the UEA
On the 24th November we went to Norwich UEA Sports Park to take part in a KS2 athletics competition. Firstly we hopped onto a minibus for about a 40 minute drive and drove to the UEA. Next we had to wait for a while for the other schools to turn up. The first activity that was on was the girl’s obstacle race then the boy’s obstacle race. Me and Luke won it and then Miss Nutbeam pulled out some water melon from Miss Tremaine we ate it with much haste.
After some field events including chest push, long jump, triple jump and vertical jump we did the speed bounce and the javelin (Luke was amazing). Finally we went to the centre of the hall and found out who won.
Out of all the small schools bacton and us we won!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anderson shelters
This week Panthers class have been making Anderson shelters linked to our class topic ww2, we brought in lots of recycled material so much in fact that we couldn’t go out the back door!

Yesterday we built our Anderson shelters with all the material we brought in. We used paint, glitter ( for the pond), tissue paper for veg and fruit, wooden sticks and a hot glue gun to stick everything together. By Jade

Amazing Anderson Shelters
This week in Panthers class we have been creating Anderson shelters using recycled materials. We liked this because we got to miss Maths and English and our whole day was turned around also we like arts and craft; we were very organised.
The materials we used were lolly pop sticks, paint, tissue paper, string, corrugated paper, dowels , polystyrene, foam, sand paper, brick patterned paper and a tea light holder.
Firstly we cut out our bases then we made our Anderson shelters after that we panted the bases Finally we added the final details.
We think that we could improve on putting more fencing and making the pond look more like a pond.

Anderson shelters
This week in Panthers class we have been constructing Anderson shelters made out of cardboard and other materials.
My Anderson shelter was similar to other people’s but had a bit too much sand on it. Because of the amount, I got covered in sand and it went all over my art shirt.
My Anderson shelter is made out of: card, corrugated card, sand, paint and glitter.
I liked making the Anderson shelters because I was very bored and tired but luckily it woke me up from everyone shouting and talking so I worked faster and harder than I ever had before, it was really, really hard but it was fun and exciting. Lots of other people were getting a bit over excited at making them.
Oh and the floor was made of a piece of card that was a 35cm-25cm.
That is my blog about my Anderson shelter.

Amazing athletics
We went on the bus and talked a lot of rubbish then we got out the bus. Then we walk to reception and went through door then we walked down a hall and saw a MASSIVE track. Then we walk even further and then we walked and there were 7 schools including Catfield Primary School
And then we did an obstacle relay warm up, and race, 4 man relay and standing triple jump.    By Koley

Athletic WINNERS
On the 24th November 2017 12 people came to the UEA to compete in a sports competition. There were 8 schools including us but we only had to go against the other ‘small school’ (Bacton). We won against them and now are going to the finals in March. We cheered an absolute ton and I (Isabella) almost lost my voice and had an amazing time.
When we were there, there were loads of events. I (Isabella) did the: obstacle relay, the 4 person relay, the vertical jump, the under over relay and the speed bounce. I (Eleanor) did the: the vertical jump, the chest push, the 2 person relay, the obstacle relay, the 2 by 2 relay, the 4 person relay and the under over relay.
